WHAT’S HAPPENING IN HALDIMAND COUNTY THIS WEEK

Everywhere

• Hey, Ward 1 and Ward 4 voters - Ready to flex your democratic muscle? Online voting is open now and runs until April 9th at 5 pm—easy peasy from the comfort of your couch. Prefer the in-person experience? Mark your calendar for April 10th and pop by the Hagersville Arena or the Jarvis Community Centre anytime between 10 am and 8 pm. Your vote counts, so let’s make it happen.

• A quick reminder that this weekend’s poker run has been cancelled. Until then, keep practicing those bluffs and enjoy a weekend free of poker-related anxiety.

• Haldimand County wants your input on their Solid Waste Management Plan, including their proposed organics collection program (think green bins) and whether you’d be willing to pay higher taxes to support it. You can tell them what you think about the idea in their survey here.

Caledonia

• The Caledonia Chamber of Commerce is rolling out the red carpet for their Business After Five networking shindig TONIGHT at the Caledonia Legion. Ready to swap stories and business cards? Don’t let this chance slip by—come mix and mingle your way to fresh connections and growth.

• Get ready to fill your plates and your hearts because the Caledonia Lions Fish Fry is making a splash this Friday, April 11th, from 4 to 7 PM. Drop by for some mouth-watering, crispy goodness, and don’t forget, Gary Rothwell will be jamming out live. Show up early, or you might miss out on the golden goodness.

• 🎶Calling all music lovers. It's your time to shine at the Caledonia Legion's Open Mic Night. Head over this Wednesday from 7 to 10 PM and bring your instruments (and your talent). Whether you rock the guitar, sing your heart out, or even play the kazoo, they want YOU to light up their stage.

• This Thursday, the Caledonia Legion is hosting euchre at 2 PM and 7 PM. Whether you're a card shark or just love a good game with friends, they've got a seat waiting for you.

• This Friday, Hammer Hogs is turning up the volume with a karaoke night you won't want to miss. Whether you're ready to belt out rock anthems or swoon us with ballads, they've got the mic with your name on it. Come show off your inner diva or rock legend.

• Midweek blues? Not at Ye Olde Squire. Live music is taking over this Wednesday from 8-10:30 PM. Grab your crew, grab a drink, and chill out to some tunes. Your ears will thank you.

• Who says staying active has to be boring? The Cypres 55+ Program is bringing the heat this week. From Cardio Fit to Yoga, Bingo to Tai Chi, and even line dancing—there’s a class for everyone. Check out the calendar and get moving. Trust us, your future self will be doing a happy dance.

• The Haldimand Photography Club is meeting this Thursday at the Caledonia Fairgrounds. Whether you're a pro or just snapping pics for the ‘Gram, drop by and connect with others who love capturing the perfect shot.

• Ladies, the Caledonia TNT 3-pitch team needs YOU! If you’ve got the skills (or just the enthusiasm), they’re looking for players this season. It’s fun, it’s social, and it’s your chance to shine on the field. Slide into their DMs to join the team.

Cayuga

• Get ready to scramble for fun because Cayuga's 3rd annual Kids Easter Egg Hunt is here, and it's bigger than ever. Now through April 21st, your little ones can discover those sneaky eggs hidden around local Cayuga businesses. For a twist of extra fun, Head over to Foodland and grab a ballot to enter for a chance to win an egg-cellent Easter basket!
