Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week

The dog days of summer may be here, but there's no sign of Haldimand County slowing down. This week's calendar is packed with community gatherings, live music, classic cars, markets, games and plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy everything our towns have to offer before summer starts winding down.

If you're looking to connect with neighbours, there are plenty of chances to do just that. Community groups are meeting across the county, local organizations are hosting fundraisers and social events, and you'll find everything from book clubs and euchre to lawn bowling, trivia and cornhole filling the week. Car lovers have several cruise nights to choose from, while music fans can catch live performances in a few different communities.

Agriculture also takes centre stage this week as the Haldimand Federation of Agriculture hosts its annual Summer BBQ in Caledonia. It's a chance to celebrate one of the county's biggest industries while bringing together farmers, community leaders and residents for an evening of great food and conversation.

Of course, August is also the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors. Farmers' markets continue to showcase the best of the season, local parks remain busy and, if the heat sticks around, there's no better excuse to cool off with a visit to Byng Pool. Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Gathering

Experience culture, community, and tradition at the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation 38th Annual Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering, August 21 to 23. Enjoy drumming, dancing, local entertainment, Indigenous vendors, and family activities. Entertainment Night kicks things off Friday, followed by two days of Grand Entry celebrations. Admission is $5; children six and under are free. Everyone is welcome.

Cayuga

100 Women Who Care Haldimand celebrates its 10-year anniversary tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ruthven Park. Learn how the group has helped local charities while enjoying an evening celebrating a decade of community giving.

Toronto Motorsports Park hosts Open Car Lapping on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m. Drivers can enjoy track time in a controlled environment, while spectators can watch a variety of performance vehicles take to the circuit.
