Good Morning, Haldimand County!
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Weekend
The weekend has arrived, and Haldimand County is giving you very few excuses to sit at home wondering what everyone else is doing.
There’s a lot happening over the next few days, with live music, community celebrations, car shows, markets, food, dancing, karaoke and plenty of opportunities to get outside while summer is still cooperating. Whether your perfect weekend involves getting muddy, eating something delicious, admiring a parking lot full of beautiful cars or handing yourself a microphone with absolutely no justification, you have options.
This is also one of those weekends when some of Haldimand County’s smaller communities really shine. There are events happening from Dunnville and Caledonia to Hagersville, Cayuga, Fisherville, Selkirk, Jarvis and beyond, including several annual traditions that bring people together from across the area.
Families have plenty to choose from, with free activities, community gatherings and events designed specifically for kids. There are also markets to browse, local businesses to visit and fundraisers where showing up means supporting organizations doing good work right here at home.
If entertainment is more your speed, you’re in luck. Live music is everywhere this weekend, and there’s enough karaoke on the schedule to suggest Haldimand County has been secretly rehearsing. There are also a few unusual experiences this week that you definitely won’t find on the average summer calendar.
And don’t mentally check out when Sunday night arrives. Monday and Tuesday have a few things worth sticking around for, too.
Summer weekends are disappearing faster than we’d like, so use this one properly. Pick something you already love, try something completely different, visit another corner of the county or just follow the sound of live music.
There’s a very good chance something interesting is happening when you get there.
