Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week
August has officially settled into Haldimand County, and if your calendar still has a few empty spaces, don't worry. We're about to fix that.
This week is packed with the kind of local events that remind you why summer never seems long enough. You can wander a farmers' market, admire rows of classic cars, sharpen your trivia skills, sample fine tea and chocolate, try your luck at a Catch the Ace jackpot that's creeping toward $20,000, or spend an evening playing euchre with friends. If you're looking for something a little different, there are workshops on water bath canning, painting, and even a chance to learn from a tea sommelier.
There are plenty of opportunities to connect with your community, too. Free family meals, grocery-sharing initiatives, community healthcare services, and local fundraisers are happening across the county, proving that some of the most meaningful events aren't the biggest ones.

In partnership with Julia’s Old Fashioned Christmas Charity, Strategy Construction is hosting the Caledonia Community Give & Take grocery event at the Caledonia Community Pantry located behind the Caledonia Presbyterian Church on Aug 6 from 4:30-6:30 pm. Take what you need, free of charge, or take some to store and help replenish the pantry over the following weeks.

Caledonia
There’s a Community Give & Take grocery event at the Caledonia Community Pantry on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. behind Caledonia Presbyterian Church. Everyone is encouraged to take a few grocery items home, free of charge, then help replenish the pantry over the coming weeks when they're able. The goal is to keep the shelves full while making the pantry something everyone can take part in.
The Caledonia Farmers' Market is back Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. Stock up on fresh produce, baked goods, handmade treats, and at least one thing you definitely weren't planning to buy.
Classic cars return to the Caledonia Fairgrounds on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. for Scoops Diner's Cool & Classic Car Night. Whether you're into muscle cars, vintage cruisers, or just the ice cream, it's always a great evening out.
The Caledonia Legion has a full day of cards and competition Thursday with euchre at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m., along with darts at 7 p.m. If your throwing arm needs a warm-up, the cards can handle that.
Cypress 55+ is getting creative with Canvas & Mocktails today, then heads to the Grand Trunk Railway Station on Thursday for an afternoon of trivia. Bring your artistic side one day and your random knowledge the next.

Cayuga
Toronto Motorsports Park opens the road course Wednesday at 5 p.m. for Open Car Lapping. Whether you're testing your own vehicle or just enjoy the sound of horsepower, it's always an entertaining evening at the track.
The Cayuga Community Café is serving up a free lunch every Friday inside St. John the Divine Church. There's no catch, just a welcoming place to enjoy a good meal and good conversation.
The Cayuga Legion has euchre Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and darts Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. One night rewards a good strategy, the other rewards a steady hand... though a little luck never hurts.

The Dunnville Farmers' Market is open today from 2 to 7 p.m. Pick up fresh local produce, baked goods, handmade items, and maybe enough treats to avoid cooking tonight.
The Dunnville Optimist Club hosts Special Olympics Bingo on Tuesday, with games starting at 6:20 p.m. Bring a donation for the local food bank and you'll receive a bonus special to play.
