Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week
It’s a quieter week across Haldimand County, and you can feel it. Things slow down a bit as Easter gets closer and people start making plans, digging out recipes, or realizing they volunteered to host and now have to actually follow through.
That doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. It just means you’re not being forced to choose between five things at once. A few solid events, some familiar faces, and enough going on to give you a reason to get out without turning your evening into a full schedule.
This is also the week where plans start stacking up fast. One minute you’re wide open, the next you’ve got dinners, visits, and someone asking if you can “just bring something simple,” which is never simple. So if your calendar is about to fill up, this is your window to sneak in something low-key before the long weekend chaos kicks in.
And let’s be honest, a quieter week has its perks. You can actually get a seat, have a conversation without shouting over a crowd, and maybe even find parking without doing a full lap.
Pick something, keep it easy, and enjoy it while it lasts.

Cypres 55+ is running a full schedule this week. Monday brings Strength & Tone, yoga, bingo, and a memory group. Wednesday adds tai chi, crafts, knitting, and Parkinson’s movement. Thursday wraps it up with Dance Fit, yoga, and Cooking 103. If you like options, you’ve got them.
Haldimand Biz Hive meets on Wednesday at 9 at Revival Coffee. Grab a coffee, swap ideas, and talk shop with other local business owners who also refuse to “circle back” later.
Caledonia Presbyterian Church hosts an Easter Concert and Cantata on Wednesday at 7. Expect music, reflection, and a solid excuse to sit still for an hour midweek.
Euchre takes over the Caledonia Legion on Thursday at 2 and again at 7, with darts also flying at 7. Cards, competition, and at least one person insisting they “never get good hands.”
The St. Paul’s Prayer Shawl Group meets on Thursday from 10 to 12 in the parish hall. Knit, chat, and create something meaningful, or just enjoy a couple of hours where nobody asks you to rush.
