Good Morning, Haldimand County!

Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week

November has arrived, the clocks have gone back, and we're all pretending that getting dark before dinner is perfectly reasonable. On the bright side, we got an extra hour of sleep over the weekend. Whether we actually used it for sleeping is another matter.

There's plenty happening around Haldimand over the next three days, and not all of it requires leaving the house after dark. Shelley's in Kohler has live music Wednesday morning, the farmers' markets in Dunnville and Caledonia are still going, and there are enough card games happening this week to keep an entire deck manufacturer in business.

Feeling lucky? There are three Catch the Ace draws happening around Haldimand this week, including two in Dunnville and one in Caledonia. Caledonia's jackpot has climbed past $10,000, while one of Dunnville's is hovering around $3,000. Not a bad way to make November a little more interesting!

For something a little different, there's Dirty Bingo at Hammer Hogs, trivia at Concession Road Brewing, karaoke at Main 88 and Eric Johnston's Son of a Bull Comedy Tour at New Amsterdam. If you'd rather participate than spectate, there's pickleball, badminton, basketball, Zumba, darts and even a little knitting.

Business owners can also pick up a few ideas at Wednesday's Business Breakthrough event in Jarvis, featuring Jeff Ronhaar of Jeff's Outdoor. Admission is free for members of local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.

And if you've been looking for an excuse to get out and meet some people, consider this your invitation. Between the euchre tables, games groups and local events, there's no shortage of opportunities to make a new friend, or at least find someone willing to be your euchre partner.

Here's what's happening around Haldimand County through Thursday!
