Good Morning, Haldimand County!
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week
I don’t know who started the rumour that “nothing happens around here,” but they clearly haven’t seen this week’s calendar.
In the next few days alone, we’ve got opening night in Jarvis, trivia battles that will test questionable “expertise,” karaoke courage at Main 88, cards slapping tables across three Legions, and more ice time than a minor hockey playoff run. Add in craft nights, knitting circles, seed starting workshops for optimistic gardeners, speed networking for the ambitious, and a Catch the Ace jackpot that could pay for a very satisfying dinner, and suddenly your quiet week looks booked.
What are you actually going to? Hit reply and tell me the one event you’ll show up for. I’m genuinely curious which ones pull you off the couch.
Because here’s the thing: none of this works if people don’t show up. It’s regular folks singing, skating, bidding, learning, and laughing together that keeps this place interesting.
So pick something. Then let me know what you chose.
Here’s what’s happening.

Caledonia
Thursday evening brings speed networking with the Caledonia Chamber. Fast intros, sharper pitches, and no time for life stories. Reach out to grab a spot and make a solid first impression.
If your hands need something more meaningful than a phone, St. Paul’s Prayer Shawl Group gathers on Thursday from 10 to 12 in the parish hall. Yarn, conversation, and quiet impact.
Ice time is stacked in Caledonia. Today offers adult skate, open figure skate, and kids’ stick and puck. Wednesday adds adult shinny and public skating. Thursday keeps the momentum with adult skate, public skate, and family stick and puck. Stretch something before you pull something.

Cypress 55+ just released its March calendar, and it is not playing around. Activities, socials, reasons to leave the house and possibly brag about it later.
Coffee and commerce collide Wednesday at 9 at Revival. Biz Hive is where ideas get shared, collaborations get sparked, and caffeine quietly does most of the heavy lifting.
Cards hit the tables at 2 pm and again at 7 pm on Thursday at the Legion. Two euchre rounds, twice the strategy, double the dramatic sighing when your partner goes alone.
Start your day right with a free breakfast at Bistro 103. Drop by Monday, Thursday, or Friday at the Community Cafe, 103 Inverness St. in Caledonia.
