Good Morning, Haldimand County!
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week

It's Small Business Week, and we're kicking things off with a room full of people who know all about early mornings, long hours and wondering why they ever thought working for themselves would mean having more free time.
This morning, the Caledonia Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Small Business Week Breakfast at Lions Hall, bringing together local business owners, entrepreneurs and community leaders. Haldimand County Pulse is proud to be the presenting sponsor and will be joining a panel of business owners to talk about the challenges, opportunities and occasional questionable decisions that come with running a business.
Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, but they're also the people sponsoring minor sports teams, donating to fundraisers, supporting local events and stepping up when someone needs a hand. They deserve a little recognition, preferably before they have to get back to work.
Meanwhile, the rest of Haldimand County isn't exactly taking the week off.
There's line dancing starting up in Caledonia, open mic night in Hagersville, pickleball in Dunnville and euchre tables waiting for players across the county. If you're looking for something a little more seasonal, Ruthven Park is serving up Haunted High Tea, while the Caledonia Train Station is digging into cemetery history and Victorian mourning traditions. Apparently, we're getting into the Halloween spirit one ghost story at a time.
And in a less festive sign of the season, the docks in Dunnville, Port Maitland and Cayuga are scheduled to come out of the water today. If you've been holding out hope for one more glorious summer afternoon on the boat, Mother Nature appears to have other plans.
Whether you're supporting a local business, attending an event, or just looking for an excuse to get out of the house, there's plenty happening close to home.
Here's what's going on around Haldimand County through Thursday!
