Good Morning, Haldimand County
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Week

Well, Thanksgiving is behind us, the leftovers are disappearing, and we're all pretending we didn't eat quite as much as we did. If you're still working your way through turkey sandwiches, you're not alone. By now, even the dog is probably tired of turkey.
We're settling back into the regular rhythm of October, which means shorter days, cooler evenings, and the annual debate over whether it's too early to turn on the furnace. Some of us are still holding out on principle. Others have already surrendered and are enjoying the luxury of warm toes.
The calendar is a little quieter this week, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. After a busy holiday weekend, there's something to be said for slowing down and enjoying the smaller things happening around our communities. Not every outing needs to involve a crowd, a parking headache, or a full day's commitment. Sometimes an hour or two out of the house, a familiar face, and a good conversation are all you need.
And while the temperatures may be dropping, there's still plenty of reason to get out and about. October has a way of reminding us that we should enjoy the nice days while we have them. Before long, we'll be scraping windshields, searching for missing gloves, and wondering why we didn't appreciate 15 degrees when we had the chance.
So grab a sweater, make some plans, and enjoy what's happening close to home. There's still plenty of October left, and winter can wait its turn.
