Good Morning Haldimand County
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Weekend
If you were hoping things might slow down for a minute… not this weekend. Haldimand County (and the usual suspects nearby) decided to stack the calendar like it’s getting paid by the event.
You’ve got chili cookoffs, home and garden shows, live music in basically every direction, trivia nights testing knowledge you forgot you had, and at least one place daring you to eat unlimited wings. There’s pickleball, crokinole, archery, karaoke, and something called a Wing Ding, which feels like it should require a waiver but probably doesn’t.
And just when you think you’ve got a handle on it, someone says, “Hey, Monster Jam is on,” and suddenly your quiet weekend plans are replaced with monster trucks doing things your insurance company would strongly advise against.
If you’re feeling productive, there are markets, workshops, and a soup fundraiser to balance things out. If you’re not, there are plenty of patios-in-training, bars with live music, and events where showing up is the only requirement.
Bottom line: there is absolutely no excuse to say “there’s nothing to do.” The harder question is what you’re willing to miss.
So grab a friend, make a loose plan, and accept that you probably won’t get to everything. So grab a friend, make a loose plan, and accept you won’t hit everything. Leave a few for next weekend… or at least that’s what you’ll tell yourself.
