WHAT’S HAPPENING IN HALDIMAND COUNTY THIS WEEK

ACROSS HALDIMAND COUNTY

Haldimand County is holding a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan 13, at 9:30 AM to hear input on a proposal to build 2,479 new homes in Caledonia. Whatever you feel about the proposal, this is your chance to speak up.

Potholes are showing up early thanks to wild weather. If you spot one, report it at 905-318-5932 and save a tire or two.

Caledonia

Haldimand Biz Hive meets on Wednesday at 9 at Revival Coffee Shop. Network, swap ideas, and pretend you’re only there for the caffeine.

Fancy yourself a dart-slinging legend? Caledonia Legion darts happen on Thursday at 7. Come for the throws, stay for the friendly chirping and surprise skill.

Caledonia Arena is stacked this week: Adult skate Tuesday morning, open figure skating and children’s stick & puck Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday has public skate and adult shinny. Thursday brings adult skate, family stick & puck, and public skate.

Euchre lovers, Caledonia Legion has you covered twice on Thursday. Cards hit the table at 2, then again at 7. Bring your best poker face and your favourite partner.

Cypress 55+ is busy: today has Cardio Fit, Yoga, Bingo, and a Memory Group. Wednesday brings Tai Chi and a Craft or Knit Group. Thursday offers Dance Fit, Yoga, Cooking 103, plus a talk on Seasonal Affective Disorder.

St. Paul’s Prayer Shawl Group meets on Thursday from 10-12 in the parish hall. Knit, chat, and help create shawls that bring comfort when it’s needed most.

No quilting experience? No problem. The Caledonia Grand River Quilt Guild meets on Wednesday at 7 PM and welcomes everyone. Come learn, mingle, and leave with big crafting energy.

Cayuga

Cards are in the air on Tuesday at 7:30 with euchre at the Cayuga Legion. Find a partner, shuffle up, and prepare to take it personally when someone calls you “lucky.”

The Cayuga Arena is stacked today with beginner skate, public skate, and adult skate. Wednesday brings adult shinny, public skate, open figure skating, and children’s stick and puck. Thursday keeps it rolling with adult skating and family stick & puck.

Midweek dart therapy is real. Cayuga Legion hosts darts on Wednesday at 7:30. Bring your aim, your patience, and a little friendly trash talk.

The Dunnville Library has ukulele lessons on Wednesday from 3-4. Free to attend, but you need to register ahead. No ukulele? No problem, you can borrow one.

Creative Barracks is hosting a Fused Glass workshop on Thursday from 7-9 for adults and teens aged 14+. Register in advance.

Euchre night hits the Dunnville Legion on Wednesday at 6:30. Bring a partner or show up and adopt one. Either way, expect laughs and at least one dramatic “I knew it.”

Chicks are back for 2026 at GrandErie Home Hardware. Order day-old chicks or ready-to-lay birds now for spring. Your future egg supply starts with tiny peeps.

The Over 60 Euchre Club meets on Thursday from 1:15 to 3:30 at the Dunnville Optimist Club. Low stakes, high laughs, and excellent mid-afternoon plans.

Thursday at the Dunnville Legion brings darts, pool, and cornhole. Come for the games, stay because you suddenly take beanbag tossing very seriously.
