Good morning, Haldimand County!
Here's What's Happening in Haldimand County This Weekend
Victoria Day weekend has officially arrived, which means Haldimand County is about to run entirely on sunshine, live music, midway food, and questionable spending decisions at yard sales. Honestly, not a bad way to spend a long weekend.
Every corner of the county has something happening over the next few days. You can spend the afternoon listening to live music on a patio, hunting for antiques and collectibles in Jarvis, checking out community events, or pretending you only stopped at the plant sale “just to look.” Good luck with that, by the way. Nobody leaves with just one plant.
The Caledonia Fairgrounds midway is back all weekend with rides, games, and fireworks, while Toronto Motorsports Park is bringing the noise with jet dragsters, funny cars, live bands, and family entertainment. If your weekend plans don’t involve hearing protection at least once, you may be doing it wrong.
There are community breakfasts, BBQs, charity events, karaoke nights, farmers markets, live bands, fishing groups, historical walking tours, and enough food-related events to completely destroy any plans you had of eating responsibly this weekend.
And if you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the house, this might be the best weekend of the year to do it. From Dunnville to Caledonia, Jarvis to Selkirk, and just about everywhere in between, Haldimand County is packed with reasons to stay local and make the most of the long weekend.
